                 My Old Sturbridge Village Project

Old Sturbridge Village has always been a special place for me, from its 1830s New England  charm to a place of respite, creativity and introspection. The project's vision is to share my passion for the village through my experiences as an Old Sturbridge Village Historical Interpreter. My Sturbridge Village Project is a visual essay of images and writings illustrating

my process of learning and understanding this period of time.

I stand still in the mist of an early autumn morning. The smoke from the chimneys and the sweet sounds slowly embrace the plenitude of this lingering moment.

I close my eyes for just another instant, and I can feel the melody rise from the footsteps on the loose sandy roads. The vivid colors come alive only by the soft subdued light upon my liberty of vision.

30 Steps Before Work

I'm bestirred by the call of the oxen, letting me know that work time is near. I resume my walk towards the store as the day must continue to be, and everything that surrounds me will still be there without me.
